If you have Premium, you can download your favorite songs, albums, playlists, and podcasts, so you can listen to them without an internet connection.
Spotify uses a freemium model, offering a basic service free of charge while enticing customers to upgrade to a paid subscription plan that includes mobile applications and advertising free stream. Spotify is available for multiple platforms including Windows, OS X and Linux as well as iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone. Open Spotify on your phone, then click the settings icon in the upper right hand corner. Click 'Streaming Quality' then it'll take you to a page where you can choose the downloading/streaming qualities and at the bottom there's an option to toggle 'Download Using Cellular' on or off. Step 4: Open Application Support and delete the Spotify folder. After that, download and install Spotify. On Windows: Step 1: Close Spotify and go to the Control Panel. Step 2: Click on Programs and Features and select Spotify in the list. Step 3: Then click on uninstall and follow the instructions on the screen. Step 4: Download and install. Premium Spotify account (not free) A compatible Garmin watch (Fenix 5 Plus at time of writing) Access to a Wi-Fi network; At least 50 per cent battery on the watch, or somewhere to plug it in to. Spotify is a digital music service that gives you access to millions of songs. Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network, and log in to Spotify. Listen out loud. Listen out loud. Fire up the Spotify app on your phone, laptop or tablet. Spotify now works on over 2000 devices from over 200 brands. In Spotify, you can mark selected playlists and sync them to your computer or mobile device for offline listening. Yes, you need to be online in order to sync the tracks in the first place, but after they copy over, they’re available for you to listen to, even if you don’t have a live Internet connection.
You can download up to 10,000 songs on a maximum of 5 different devices.
Note: If you use the free service you can download podcasts on mobile and tablet.
Note: An internet connection is initially required for downloading. You need to go online at least once every 30 days to keep your music and podcasts downloaded.

Note: It’s not possible to download albums or podcasts in the desktop app.
- Go to the playlist you want to download.
- Switch Download on .
A green arrow indicates the download was successful.
Set the app to Offline Mode
Note: In Offline Mode, you can only play music you’ve downloaded.
- Open Spotify.
- For Mac: In the Apple menu at the top of the screen, click Spotify.
For Windows: Click File in the Windows menu at the top of the screen. - Select Offline Mode.
Download music and podcasts
- Go to the playlist, album, or podcast you want to download.
- Tap to download.
Note: On Android, tap Download on to download an album or playlist.
A green arrow indicates the download was successful.
Note: Podcasts you download are automatically saved to Your Library .
Set the app to Offline Mode
Note: In Offline Mode, you can only play music and podcasts you’ve downloaded.
- Tap Home .
- Tap Settings .
- Tap Playback.
- Switch Offline on.
Download with mobile data
By default, downloading with mobile data is disabled. To enable it:
- Tap Home .
- Tap Settings .
- Tap Music Quality.
- Under Download, switch on Download using cellular.

Here are some ways to play Spotify in the car:
Note: Some cars require Spotify Premium.
Many car media systems offer a Spotify app built into the stereo. Check out Spotify Everywhere to see which ones.
Don’t worry if your car’s not listed, you can check with the manufacturer, and there are plenty of other ways to play in the car listed below.

Car view
When you connect your phone to your car’s Bluetooth, car view automatically turns on.
You see larger, driver-friendly icons in the Now Playing view, and you can quickly change what plays with Choose Music at the bottom of the screen.
To disable Car view:
- Tap Home .
- Tap Settings .
- Under Car, switch Carview off.
You may be able to use an AUX or USB cable to directly connect your mobile or tablet to your car.
Note: Check with your car’s manufacturer to make sure you have the correct cable.
